Phil Johnson is a consultant in Pay Governance’s Detroit office. Phil has thirteen years of HR consulting experience, including twelve years in executive compensation. He consults to compensation committees and senior management and his project-based experience includes executive and outside director compensation assessments, short- and long-term incentive plan designs, pay-for-performance analyses, peer group design and severance/change-in-control liability calculations.
Phil earned a B.S. in actuarial science and statistics from Central Michigan University, graduating with honors.
Prior to joining Pay Governance, Phil worked as an executive compensation analyst at Willis Towers Watson and as an employee benefits consultant at Plante Moran.
Phil's publications include articles in The Corporate Governance Advisor, WorldatWork, the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance, The Chief Executive and various Pay Governance Viewpoints.
